CaRP HQ

They claim to be the original CaRP sim, founded back in 2006. "Often imitated, never bettered" says the spiel in their details.
.
They are an inclusive sim, they accept everyone and everything in their game-play. Humans, robot, furries, dragons, demons and cuddly pussy cats, even child avatars are welcome here to join in with the social activities.
.
The forced entry LM point brings visitors to the sim besides the info board in the lobby. After accepting and OK'ing the zillions of blue menus that are offered to you, walk along some and you'll find the couches. At any time of the day you will find fellow CaRPers sitting, cuddling, kneeling, standing or meditation here. It is a safe zone where, mostly unCaRP chatter, happens. There is a strong core of regulars who perform the roles of Greeter/Inviter or Security.
.
You need to be at least 14 days old to enter this sim and to enjoy it fully, you need to be "invited" into the group and pay L$95 for the pleasure. Below the glass-floored lobby is the CaRP maze; to get into it you need to prove to the staff that you have reached a certain level of role play and that you are serious in your intentions. Age and group membership combined hope to secure the quality of role players in the maze.
.
The free capture tags that are available for players allow one to set up preferences in terms of orientation, need, and difficulty. Wear the game tag, set your requirements, make sure you have your group tag showing and off you go...
.
Preds and prey run around the leylandii bushes, both parties hoping for an encounter that will simulate a capture, a scene and a release. The role play is generally in open chat and can vary from demanding a hug in return for release to a violent, aggressive hard-core attack and rape. There are a few BDSM toys dotted about in the maze itself and lots specialist rooms around the edge, if players want to move the scene away.
.
Whilst the lobby and maze are the central features of the sim, there are other places to explore. The gardens beneath the maze, reached by TP are a joy to explore and their medical facilities that stretch into the sci-fi zone are also available for use.
.
The sim provides free role play classes for those who wish to learn. They are held on a Sunday, details are posted on the lobby's noticeboard.

Kingdom of Sand

Put "Sex" into the Places tab in SL search and you will find this sim is 22 down the list. With a traffic count of 57216, this piece of Arabia is hugely popular. I have been here on three occasions at various times of the day and have always found it to be very busy, maybe 50/60 people each time time. As a result, it suffers heavily from lag.
.
This sim is a Capture Role Play sim, where if you enter without an observer's tag (They call it explorer's tag) you are likely to be "beaten severely, hung, drawn, quartered and fed to the crows" to quote their note card.
.
The story behind the sim...
.
The last Great Sultan died and the kingdom was passed to his sister who had watched for years as her brother stirred up trouble in the lands. When she became Sultana, she made an agreement with all the factions that she would not interfere with their business so long as they kept peace amongst themselves.
.
In her palace she was safe and ignorant. She never really got to know what was going on outside her walls. In reality the city and faction leaders were in conflict as they were before; raids took place, the main goodies to steal? Well, slaves, of course.
.
There is a clear well structured hierarchical system that ranges from the Sultana and the Royal family to the cook, carpet seller and potter. Everyone else are slaves/prey or slavers/Master/Mistress/Dom/me/pred or "Frees"etc as you would find in any D/s type place.
.
They operate their own financial system that is linked to their game tag. They don't use L$ here but K$ in their RP. They can earn these K$ by, for example, camping in cages, guarding the undead or serving in the Public Houses. It is there, I am told, to support and encourage the role-play. They can then exchange the K$ to buy food or slaves etc. There is no link between buying and selling K$ and buying and selling L$.
.
CaRP and RP is plentiful here, the whole sim is geared around slavery; the links made with D/s are everywhere. There are a few BDSM areas about but you have to know where they are. The toys and equipment are often cleverly disguised to fit with the Arabic theme.
.
Copied from their note card...

  • Magi Tower - dungeon in the basement (the sacrificial altar, the cross and some other pose balls)
  • Dungeon - The torture bed, the cross, some other balls, the slave hangers
  • Slaver's Boat - The slaver's throne, the cross, some pose balls below
  • Bedu Tents - Whipping post, the bedu bench, some pose balls
  • Necro - A cross, a wall rack, some poseballs
  • Harem - A love/spanking bench inside the cage

Open sex here is allowed although it needs to be RPed by game-players and citizens, not a place for the casual SL resident to wander into and start banging away.
.
It is a truly stunning sim to visit; its design and construction are second to none. It is what I would call, a professional sim. Everything comes together, the visuals, the music, sounds, people, the environment to create an inclusive experience. It is places like this that Second Life means when they refer to the platform as being a "Virtual Reality". This sim, is virtually, real.
